SAP and Google Cloud Redefine Enterprise AI: A New Era of Zero-Copy Data Sharing for Google BigQuery

SAP and Google Cloud: Business Data Cloud Meets BigQuery

At the SAP Connect event, SAP SE and Google Cloud announced a new phase in their strategic collaboration around data and analytics. The key highlight was the launch of SAP Business Data Cloud Connect for Google BigQuery — an innovative solution that enables bidirectional, zero-copy data exchange between SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP BDC) and Google BigQuery.

This technology provides organizations of all sizes with real-time access to accurate, reliable, and secure business data—without duplication, complex ETL pipelines, or latency. As a result, companies can deploy AI solutions, run analytics, and automate processes faster using the most up-to-date information available.

How the SAP–Google Partnership Transforms Enterprise Data Management

For decades, enterprise analytics systems operated in isolation: transactional data stayed within ERP systems, while analytics ran in separate tools. Traditional ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes created duplicated data that quickly became outdated, leading to inconsistencies between operational metrics and analytical reports.

SAP and Google Cloud eliminate this issue by establishing a unified data ecosystem without duplication. Through the integration of SAP Business Data Cloud and Google BigQuery, enterprises gain a single source of truth (SSOT) — the foundation for building intelligent agents, predictive models, and automated business processes.

How It Works: The Zero-Copy Approach in Action

Google Cloud is the first hyperscaler to implement SAP Business Data Cloud Connect. This means companies can connect to semantically rich SAP data without copying it, using an ETL-free integration.

Organizations can combine SAP data with corporate datasets in BigQuery (and vice versa) to generate deeper insights, develop AI-driven solutions, and automate complex workflows — from logistics and supply chain management to financial forecasting.

“SAP and Google Cloud have a long-standing partnership, helping global enterprises unlock the potential of data and AI,” said Christian Klein, CEO of SAP SE.
“Integrating Google BigQuery and SAP Business Data Cloud gives customers uncompromised flexibility to accelerate analytics and AI projects.”

“Today, businesses are embedding intelligence and automation into every aspect of operations,” added Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud.
“Connecting SAP Business Data Cloud with BigQuery and Gemini models provides a unified foundation for the next generation of AI-powered solutions.”

Integrating SAP Business One with SAP Business Data Cloud

SAP is actively expanding the connectivity of SAP Business One with the SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) ecosystem — which includes SAP Business Data Cloud.

✅ This means SAP Business One can be integrated with SAP Business Data Cloud using SAP Integration Suite or SAP Datasphere Connector.

This integration enables companies to:

  • Transfer business data from SAP Business One to SAP BDC without duplication.
  • Analyze data in the cloud using BigQuery, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), or other BI tools.
  • Enrich ERP data with external sources (e.g., Google Trends or open datasets).
  • Use this data in AI models, agent-based systems, or real-time dashboards.

Thus, companies already running SAP Business One can extend beyond traditional ERP boundaries by integrating with Business Data Cloud and Google AI, enhancing their analytical maturity and decision-making precision.

The Technological Core: SAP Business Data Cloud Connect for Google BigQuery

The central innovation — SAP Business Data Cloud Connect for Google BigQuery — is a zero-copy solution providing seamless access to SAP data in the Google Cloud environment.

The platform integrates the semantic layer of SAP with Google’s AI ecosystem, including Gemini and Vertex AI models.

This unlocks new opportunities for businesses:

  • Building real-time AI solutions without data replication.
  • Developing autonomous agents to optimize production and financial operations.
  • Conducting advanced analytics by combining SAP data with Google Maps, Google Trends, and open datasets.
  • Leveraging natural language analytics, allowing users to ask business questions conversationally and receive meaningful responses in seconds.

Availability and Support

Google Cloud will provide clients and partners with dedicated support programs to accelerate the adoption of joint SAP–Google solutions.

Currently, SAP Business Data Cloud is available in Google Cloud regions across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the United States. SAP Business Data Cloud Connect for Google BigQuery will become available to customers in the first half of 2026.

Beyond Integration: A Unified Vision for Enterprise Data

The SAP–Google Cloud collaboration is more than a technical integration — it represents a new paradigm in enterprise data management, where analytics, AI, and business processes coexist in a single, zero-copy data space.

For SAP Business One users, this marks the beginning of intelligent transformation: the ERP system evolves from a transactional core into the heart of a real-time analytical ecosystem.
